I appreciate the effort that goes into the layout, the paper, and the print quality. A large number are likely to be unfamiliar to the reader with even the ones that are, like the cult-classic Serper- Nikolaidis, St. The reader will find very clear explanations for even the most complicated connections.
An excellent innovation is the provision of study positions before the main body of the text discusses them so the reader obtains maximum benefit from his efforts. No PayPal account needed. I haven’t read Vukovic’s classic the Art of Attack yet but would that be better? And I don’t have to point out that Aagard is one of the most respected chess authors; he is truly a no-nonsense writer.
It might seem a little strange to see new editions [of Attacking Manual 1] so soon. Published January 1st by Quality Chess first published July 30th Mar 13, 3. Paperbackpages. I think it’s quite good cause it teaches us scientifically how to conduct a mating attack not just throw some examples at us. This jadob in regards to a different question, however, it involves the same topic.
mnual This is eye-catching material at its best Aagaard talks of his goal as being to teach everything about attacking chess; a goal which he saw as destined to failure He talked about how in chess writing, the books need to be instructive and worked with but also need to be clear and enjoyable. The layout and presentation is excellent. I strongly recommend it. It is a book to be worked with not just read. Want to Read Currently Reading Read.
Trying to write down a couple of impressions and perhaps a plan before reading the game will increase the learning effect. Spectraz marked it as to-read Sep 06, The only thing negative I heard from reading reviews is that Aagard tends to belittle his readers a bit but I don’t really care about that haha But if you get into the books, it becomes apparent and revelatory how the examples not only explain ‘how’ the games are won, but also ‘why’ this was attcking.
